Monday Mood-Lifters (Tuesday Edition)

Memorial Day/Monday Mood Lifters

Bombshell (Carmen Electra for ShoeDazzle)!

So Carmen Electra is the latest celeb to help create a shoe for ShoeDazzle.  I must say when I posted about this a couple weeks ago, I was HIGHLY anticipating seeing this shoe!  I LOVE it!  What I REALLY love is that the charity she chose helps families in the US!  Don't get me wrong, but we (the US in general) help foriegn countries SO MUCH, often forgeting that there are people/families/children in our own back yards that need help, too!  One Voice is a "non profit organization helping families living at poverty level within our community. Our programs range from providing emergency relief services to families in immediate crises to a scholars program designed to better the quality of people’s lives."

Monday Mood-Lifters (#3)

Morning, ladies!  This is my 3rd Monday Mood-Lifter post.....I've gotten really good feedback on these.  Seems everyone can use some mood lifting eye candy on Monday's!  Especially if you're not lucky enough to live someplace sunny (rain here going on 2 weeks now....if blogs were written on paper, you'd see tear stains....LOL). I've found some REALLY cute & cheap shoes (price cheap, not quality!) this Monday!  Trying to decide which I'll order, even as I'm typing this!!

Nicki Minaj's Look for Less!

While I generally find Nicki's style a tad too......eccentric for my taste, I saw this photo (below) of her & thought it was pretty cute!  Very different for her!  

I've seen shoes similar to hers lately, so thought I'd throw together a quick "Look for Less"!

Willow (ShoeDazzle)

Ok, I must confess.....I'm finding that I buy a lot of the SAME style/color shoes, so I have been starting to look at things that I wouldn't normally buy.  This was the case with Willow.  While I thought Willow was cute, I also instantly thought "not my style".  My next thought was "buy it!"simply because its NOT my style.  I have bought a couple shoes now that are out of my "normal" and been very happy with them!  This was not the case with Willow.  I WOULD have kept Willow and even worn her out, just for something different, BUT...the quality SUCKED.  The edges were lumpy looking, and the fronts had gaps & glue visible (see pics below).  As for FIT, she fit pretty well.  Not too loose or too tight anywhere, and I have wide feet so its nice to find a shoe that's not tight.

So, as I wasn't in love with Willow from the beginning, I was not devastated when I had to return her!  It'll just be a credit waiting for all the new shoes on June 1st!  ;)  This is also the FIRST pair of SD shoes I've had to return for visible defects.  I returned Amerie in March, but just because she FELT cheaply made~ there were NO visible defects. 

Anyways!  Just a quick review, as I have Sprint, Mulberry (nude) & Zinnia (pink AND purple arrive today) still waiting for reviews.  I should have been posted reviews but all this D*#N RAIN is making me super lazy & unmotivated to do much of ANYTHING.

Beyonce "Girls Who Run The World" Shoes & Teaser!

Ok, I am a big Beyonce fan. That said, her new single "Girls Who Run The World" I DON'T love. Yet. As with a couple of her songs, I'm sure it'll grow on me, but its not INSTANT love (for me) this time. YouTube is full of videos claiming to be the "official" video for the song, however upon watching them you soon realize.....they're NOT. The OFFICIAL video is set to premiere on 5/13/11, or better known as Friday, the 13th!

Why am I posting about this?  Watch the teaser & just take a look at some of the things she's wearing in the video.  I'm pretty sure you won't see these shoes on the lady you pass on the sidewalks in your town (well, maybe you will.....please take and post pics if that happens!  LOL!).  But, that's Beyonce.  She can pull off things 99% of us would look ridiculous in!  :)

Fashionable Office Supplies

So, I read a blog post by a fellow blogger & it was about her obsession over shoes & office supplies.  I can TOTALLY relate!  I'm SO happy in Staples or in the office supply section of Target/Wal Mart/Etc!  Even if I don't NEED anything, I love to look!  Today, I just happened to need to go to UPS to return a pair of shoes (Willow from SD.  Will do a review this week!), and since UPS is in Staples, I had to look around!  ;)  I got a SHOE tape dispenser!  How flippin' cute is that?!?!  I got the pink one, but they have red, too!  Don't have Staples near you?  You can order online, just click on the links!  I also found a black stiletto one online! I WILL be ordering it (no, I don't need 2 tape dispensers @ home, but hey...its a shoe!). 

Like handbags as well as shoes?  Well, I have something for that, too!  ;)  A handbag Post-It dispenser!

Peony (ShoeDazzle)

 

So, I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when "Mr. UPS" arrived a day early (yesterday) with a package for me....which shoe was it gonna be (I had 4 that I was waiting on delivery for)????  I opened it & was very happy to see Peony!  She's even cuter in person!!  No defects (the bow on one was a little smooshed cuz of shipping, but it'll fix!), & VERY different from any other shoe/boot that I have!  They are comfy SO FAR....I've only worn them in the house for a few mins to make sure they fit, but they don't hurt at all!  They also are 100% TTS. 

They LOOK like they're tight at the top in these pics, but they're NOT.  Its just how I'm standing.

Still not sure when I'll wear Peony, or WHAT I'll wear w/her, but I'll find the occasion & the outfit!  ;)  I'm THINKING a cute skirt or capris & printed top w/some funky bracelets, but not quite sure yet.  What do you think?

Monday Mood-Lifters.

Just another Manic Monday?  Same here.  After a few days of neglecting the gym, the most recent 4lb loss crept back on, so I had to get back to my workouts!  Ohhh, how I wish I could afford a date w/Dr. 90210!  Anyways!  After the gym, scouring weekly flyers/coupons to go grocery shopping (have to look for deals since gas cost me $60 this week....YIKES), AND having to do laundry....I am in need of a pick-me-up!  Thought I'd try to find some cute (yet budget friendly) shoes, since 2 things (shoes & a good deal) can *usually* always lift my mood!
